Spring Engagement Photos in Prospect Park by NYC Photographers Sava Studio
Spring Engagement Photos
Recently engaged in NYC and ready to take some engagement photos? You’ve come to the right place.
There are plenty of locations around New York to take engagement photos, but Prospect Park remains a versatile favorite.
The Brooklyn Museum has beautiful architecture, and let’s not forget the iconic YO/OY sign. Around the corner from the museum is Grand Army Plaza; it’s a great place to just chill out and look effortlessly cool.
A short walk across the street from Grand Army plaza is Prospect Park itself. On this particular day, the sun was shining bright and plenty of folks had picnics and frisbee games. It’s a very happy, wide-open space. Perfect energy for engagement photos.
Why take engagement photos at Prospect Park?
The park itself has plenty of space to spread out and make your own. You can bring a picnic blanket, snacks, flowers, etc. and have your own little magazine-spread-worthy photoshoot. In addition to the park, you have the architecture of the Brooklyn Museum and Grand Army Plaza at your disposal. It makes for a very dynamic photo session.
When you take a short walk through the park, there’s a super cool small brick building and little fountain. The shadows become very artsy when the sun is at the right angle — highly recommend utilizing this area.
What comes after the session?
You may also be wondering “what happens after I take my engagement photos?”
The great thing about an engagement session is it allows you to test your chemistry with the photographer. Make sure ensure your comfort, take time to produce beautiful photos, and offer you insight into what shooting on your wedding day will be like.
After shooting with us, you’ll receive your gallery in 24-72 hours, and we usually offer a little discount for our wedding packages. In addition to that, we’ll also be at your disposal should you need assistance with wedding planning tasks.
I'm melissa -- mel, for short. i'm an aries, lover of 60s and 70s music & aesthetics, and i can (probably) quote 90% of breaking bad.
I think the most important thing when photographing your wedding is getting to know you as individuals, and as a couple. Too often, photographers will apply a "one size fits all" approach; but photos and poses that worked for someone else may not work for you. It's my job to adapt to you, not the other way around.
