After tying the knot at City Hall in NYC, we made our way to Florence, Italy for the big, blow out, destination portion of this wedding.
Florence is the perfect place for a destination wedding. You can fly into Rome ahead of time and visit the usual tourist-y areas and then hop on a quick 2 hours train to Firenze — that’s what I did.
The beautiful city of Florence has a little bit of something for everyone. For example, if you’re an art person, there’s plenty of museums and galleries. If you love architecture, there is no shortage of that. And most importantly, the amazing restaurants and venues for all of your wedding needs.
The ceremony and reception were held at the picturesque Villa Medicea di Lilliano Wine Estate. The team of vendors involved was really amazing. Everyone was instrumental in making this beautiful wedding possible. Caterina was a planning machine and made everyone feel so comfortable in their duties.
Working with another photographer I admire is something I’ll never forget; Francesco Bognin, you’re an absolute joy.
When your wedding is in Florence, you don’t really have to try to make it look beautiful — it just is.
However – with that being said, every vendor who played a part in the reception absolutely outdid themselves. The florals from Il Giardino Delle Fate were beautifully crafted.
Additionally, I could talk about the risotto and lamb I ate from Delizia Ricevimenti Firenze all day.
There was no shortage of incredible lighting thanks to everyone at Alma Project 24/7, and the lovely Musica Evento provided the perfect soundtrack to the night.
It’s 2023 now, and I’m doing some reflecting on this wedding.
When you’re attending a destination wedding as both a guest and a photographer, you truly get the best of both worlds.
Witnessing and photographing my sweet friends get married in a beautiful city is something I’ll always cherish.
