Elopement Photographer: Elopement Photos at Washington Square Park
Elopement Photos at Washington Square Park
Curious about what a lot of couples are opting to do in the Time of Coronaâ„¢? Have you considered a quick ceremony on zoom? Maybe even at city hall? Regardless of how you tie the knot, you’re going to want photos. That’s just how it is. No matter how small the wedding, the marriage deserves photos that will last for generations. Which brings me here: an elopement photographer.
IF YOU’VE NEVER HIRED AN ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER BEFORE | WHAT TO EXPECT
I speak with every couple on the phone or in person a few times prior to the shoot, addressing a few questions and concerns. A main concern some couples have: they’ve never hired a photographer before. I’m willing to bet lots of people haven’t hired photographers before, and for that reason, I’d like to offer some insight.
There is no such thing as awkward. Awkwardness in front of the camera is actually just the perfect way to get the most natural looking photos — ok, hear me out. When you’re constantly posing, everything starts to look forced; maybe you’re in a “pose” that you would *never* normally do, and isn’t true to your personalities. Those photos will not be very authentic. What I prefer is a couple who is cool with me essentially just following them around while they do their thing; talk, joke, get a coffee, cuddle, dance, kiss (or don’t), etc. You know yourselves better than anyone, so do what feels most natural to you and I’ll guide you if need be.

I'm melissa -- mel, for short. i'm an aries, lover of 60s and 70s music & aesthetics, and i can (probably) quote 90% of breaking bad.
I think the most important thing when photographing your wedding is getting to know you as individuals, and as a couple. Too often, photographers will apply a "one size fits all" approach; but photos and poses that worked for someone else may not work for you. It's my job to adapt to you, not the other way around.
