Being located in New York City as a boutique wedding photography and videography studio means I get to see some super unique areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and all of upstate New York. I’m so grateful that this job allows me to see some truly incredible places, and work with some super talented individuals. I put together a massive list of the 75 Best NYC Wedding Venues. Some of these locations will be among the best rooftop wedding venues in NYC, as well as the best hotel wedding venues in NYC.
I’ve had the privilege of working at most of these venues before, and I can’t wait to get the opportunity to explore some new spaces. Choosing a location for your wedding will likely be one of the first big decisions you make while planning. It is also likely to make the biggest dent in your budget. Picking a venue among so many iconic places can be difficult, but I’m here to help!
On this list of unique and luxurious wedding venues in NYC, you’ll find everything from the Brooklyn and New York Botanical Gardens, as well as 620 Loft and Garden, and also some hidden gem rentable spaces that have their own definition of luxury.
If you want some great wedding venues in NYC to choose from, look no further. Let’s dive in together.
If you’re thinking about downsizing your guest list, you do not have to sacrifice having a gorgeous venue, too. There are so many places in New York that are still elegant, iconic, and practical for a wedding of 100 guests or less. If there’s one thing that couples have taken away from the last few years (hint: COVID), it’s that your wedding can be big OR small. It’s still going to be an amazing day!
1. MERCHANT’S HOUSE MUSEUM
The first time I saw this venue was in 2021 for an intimate wedding ceremony. It honestly felt like hosting your wedding in your own backyard, in the absolute best way possible. With that in mind, it’s still an amazing wedding venue. The staff was accommodating and kind, and there was certainly no shortage of immaculate artifacts and greenery.

2. THE STANDARD – EAST VILLAGE
Continuing our unintentional tour of the East Village we have a sort of hidden gem. I think it’s also one of the best rooftop wedding venues in NYC. The Standard Hotel is a quaint and eccentric hotel in a very artistic area of Manhattan. Not to mention, there is also a tranquil garden hidden beneath the street, the busy, all-day street-side Café Standard with an indoor mushroom farm, and NO BAR, a hugely inclusive new wave gay bar that accepts anybody and everyone.
Neighborhood: East Village, Manhattan
Address: 25 Cooper Square, New York, New York, United States, 10003

3. MANHATTA
Manhatta is, to sum up, a love letter to NYC. Perched sixty stories up in the Financial District, this venue offers stunning views of Manhattan, and has a space perfect for any celebration. This venue actually has a pretty large capacity in some of their rooms, but the private dining room hosts up to 40 guests; perfect for an intimate wedding reception.

Neighborhood: Financial District
Address: 28 Liberty Street, 60th Floor, New York, NY 10005

4. THE W LOFT
Without a doubt one of my favorite venues, this list wouldn’t feel right without including The W Loft in Brooklyn. The venue boasts elegant waterfront views of the Manhattan skyline. The glass walls making up the interior allow for guests to enjoy the view no matter what the weather is like. So, you can truly make this space whatever you dream it to be.

5. STONE MILL AT NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
Stone Mill is the perfect sub-venue of the iconic New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. It’s an iconic living museum and undoubtedly one of the greatest botanical gardens in the world. You’ll be escorted around the grounds on a golf cart, ensuring you get to take photos in all the most beautiful areas of the garden. If you love nature, this is obviously the venue for you. The garden is also home to three different “venues,” and Stone Mill is perfect for more intimate gatherings.

6. BRANDY LIBRARY
Brandy Library is located in Tribeca, and is altogether such a fun space. It’s perfect for more intimate events, and can accommodate 70 guests on the top floor and 40 on the bottom floor. There is no room rental fee, rather a minimum spending fee. Furthermore, all of the (delicious) food is made in-house with super fresh ingredients, plus you get to learn about brandy! It’s a warm, cozy space perfect for a micro-wedding or afterparty.
Capacity: 70

7. IL BUCO NYC
For more intimate affairs, I cannot recommend Il Buco enough. The downstairs private dining area is charming wine cellar, fitted with ladders to reach the very top shelves. Moreover, the staff couldn’t be more welcoming, and the food is incredible and innovative. It has medieval dungeon meets underground club in NYC vibes, which to me is a perfect combo overall.

8. THE LOTOS CLUB
This particular NYC wedding venue is one in I’m dying to photograph in eventually. Built in 1900 as a wedding gift for Maria Vanderbilt Shepard and William Jay Schieffelin, it has been lovingly restored. Guests and members alike treasure a setting that is timelessly beautiful but not ostentatious; perfectly elegant, yet comfortable. Something to note, though: all private events at The Lotos Club must be sponsored by a member of the Club.

9. THE LOVE SHACK, A LITTLE PALACE IN BROOKLYN
In particular, this intimate NYC wedding venue is one I’m newly obsessed with. It’s called “The Love Shack,” and it’s so magical. The Love Shack is a design showroom, photographic location, small event space, and live-in show home in New York City. To point out: almost every piece of furniture or lighting you see is an original design or restored and modified from its original form. Additionally, some pieces are even available for sale!

10. THE EVELYN HOTEL
Though I’ve only been to the Evelyn once, that’s all it took for me to fall in love with it. This charming hotel is situated between Madison Square Park and the Empire State Building. As soon as I noticed the art deco theme, I knew the photos here would be gorgeous. The lobby area has a beautiful bar and dining lounge, which is obviously perfect for an intimate dinner reception setting. However I’m not 10000% sure they offer wedding packages, but I highly doubt it’s non-negotiable.

A perk of having your wedding at a restaurant, to sum up: food is the easiest part of the day. You’re in luck if you love the food at the restaurant and if it’s a beautiful venue. Additionally, this eliminated the hassle of bringing in a caterer and any restrictions that may bring up. On the other hand, you can also use a restaurant as your rehearsal dinner space. Not every restaurant will be able to accommodate your wedding reception size or needs, so be sure to look into plenty of options. Some of our favorite restaurant NYC wedding venues are below.
11. BRYANT PARK GRILL
Unquestionably one of our favorite venues in NYC! Bryant Park Grill is cozily situated behind the New York Public Library. The park also serves as a stunning backdrop for all events. They can accommodate large parties in their dining room, rooftop and garden, which of course has a heated tent in the winter. If you’re not hosting your wedding here, just go for the food experience. Everything is delicious, plus you can spend your day in the park afterward!

12. CATHÉDRALE RESTAURANT
Another on our list of best restaurant wedding venues in NYC is Cathédrale restaurant. You’ll find it inside the Moxy hotel in the East Village, which in and of itself is an equally amazing location. With a carefully curated menu, Chef Jason Hall adds his own unique twist on classic French-Mediterranean cuisine that paints a picture of the coastal cuisine of Southern France, with brushstrokes of Italy, Spain, and Greece in a rather staggering setting. I recommend having a post-ceremony drink or maybe even cocktail hour at the bar while the reception space is finished being set up.

My boyfriend was actually the one who stumbled upon this venue, and it was many years ago. However, I have always kept it in the back of my mind as a great place to host a wedding. It’s a stone’s throw away from Bryant Park and happens to have not only a delicious food menu, but also a compelling rooftop space perfect for events. Most importantly, it’s a space able to be used year round. Thanks to their retractable glass roof, indoor seating and outdoor terrace, Refinery Rooftop is the place to be. I would love to photograph more weddings here. When I visited this venue almost 2 years ago, I had the absolute best time. Located in the Rockaways in Queens, Bar Marseille’s rooftop deck features ocean views and a large, open air space. The indoor dining room and bar features double height ceilings, a large marble bar and additional outdoor dining spaces. Altogether, it is ideal for al fresco parties. If anything, I suggest dining here at least once. You can easily spend all day on the beach, and afterward take a short walk over to the restaurant.
