As much as I love my job, when my contracted time comes to an end, I’m pretty eager to get home. However, there are exceptions; Clare and Isaac fall into that category. When their Long Island wedding day came to a close, I actually said “I want to stay longer”. This is, objectively, extra insane because the next day I was traveling to Italy for 2 weeks for my birthday. That’s how much I adored spending time with this incredible couple. Let’s unpack the day and dive into their amazing love story.
The Sound View is a landmark hotel resort & restaurant located directly on Long Island Sound, on the North Fork. The Halyard Restaurant & Sound View Inn has panoramic views of beautiful sunsets from their seaside decks or from inside one of the dining areas. Each couple is able to have their own stretch of pristine waterfront on the beach, with everything they need to have a beautiful ceremony and reception.
Guests are sure to appreciate how easy it is to reach this Long Island wedding venue, just a short drive from the LIE or the Cross Sound Ferry. Those coming from out of town will appreciate the convenience of the Sound View Inn right next door, where every room is on the water. The Sound View’s location is an ideal setting for a memorable wedding experience.
Getting to spend time with couples on the most special day of their lives is a privilege I don’t take lightly. I know how hard it is to be vulnerable. It can be especially difficult when you involve folks you might not know super intimately — aka, the vendors (me). Clare and Isaac bared their beautiful souls from morning to night, encouraging and advocating for everyone in their circle to do the same. The ceremony had everyone – including me – in shambles, and each speech during the reception was better than the last. The amount of love, intention, and dedication poured into this wedding day was palpable.
One of my favorite reviews I’ve ever gotten came from Clare, shortly after I delivered the final gallery. I’ll let you view it for yourself:

I think the most important thing when photographing your wedding is getting to know you as individuals, and as a couple. Too often, photographers will apply a "one size fits all" approach; but photos and poses that worked for someone else may not work for you. It's my job to adapt to you, not the other way around.
