Shumita and Michael's Destination Wedding in Italy
Florence is the perfect place for a destination wedding. You can fly into Rome ahead of time and visit the usual tourist-y areas and then hop on a quick 2 hours train to Firenze.
The ceremony and reception were held at the picturesque Villa Medicea di Lilliano Wine Estate, and getting ready took place at the Grand Hotel Baglioni, a stone's throw away from the train station in Florence.

It’s 2024 now, and I’m doing some reflecting on this wedding. When you’re attending a destination wedding as both a guest and a photographer, you truly get the best of both worlds. Witnessing and photographing my sweet friends get married in a beautiful city is something I’ll always cherish.

"Melissa photographed our (intimate, family-only) City Hall paperwork day, and we loved her work so much we booked her for our garden wedding party! I felt a little apprehensive about wedding photographers in general because I've seen a lot of cheesy work out there and didn't want to be told to do hammy, old-school poses. But Melissa has a way of putting people totally at ease and capturing you in your element. She let me and my husband just do our thing, and the photos came out looking so natural and sweet and real. The few times she "posed" us were to take advantage of natural lighting or architectural elements around us -- you can tell this team went to art school! She captured some beautiful candid shots of our guests throughout the ceremony and party; she clearly has an eye for documenting little details.
Another thing that made us so glad we went with Sava: Melissa left such a nice impression on my family and guests, and was especially great with (sometimes impatient/tantrumy) kids. What a pro, from start to finish. I strongly recommend Sava!"
