Meeting Grace and Ryan during their engagement session back in the fall of 2023 was like connecting with old friends. I knew that once it was time for their big day in June of 2024 that it would be amazing, and lo and behold, I was right. The wedding weekend began with their rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the Larchmont Shore Club. Next came the big day, their beautiful Larchmont Yacht Club wedding.
The rain was on and off, but off just enough for us to do all of their most important photos outside. While she was getting ready, Grace was able to tell us the history of her gorgeous, delicate, lace veil. It has been in her family for generations, with both her mother and grandmother wearing it on their own wedding day. Scroll on and see for yourself! But first, a bit about the history of the venue.
Founded in 1880, this club has become a cornerstone of the local community. It boasts stunning views of Long Island Sound and provides members with access to various water activities such as sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
The club also hosts numerous events throughout the year that cater to families and individuals alike. From regattas to social gatherings, there’s always something happening at Larchmont Yacht Club. Additionally, it is known for its beautiful facilities that can accommodate weddings and other special events.
One unique tradition that takes place at sunset is called “Colors.” On the lawn, guests are invited to observe as the canon is fired and the American flag is lowered. It is followed by a collective moment of silence, in order to honor all of those who have died in the line of duty. On wedding days, the couple is often invited to fire the canon themselves! It makes for great photos.
Once all the formalities were through, Grace put on her party dress and Ryan ditched the suit jacket. There was crowdsurfing, human-surfing, and there was a late-night hot dog truck! Grace and Ryan ended the night with the sparkler exit, ft. all their remaining guests. 10/10 day.
